Home > Open Class of Latin American Music
The Open Class of Traditional Music is an independent educational project that seeks to generate a virtual space for teaching/learning various elements that converge in the popular music of Latin America: from music theory (reading and writing, scales and intervals, melodic structures, basic harmony) to interpretation of genres and musical instruments from specific societies, regions, or countries, all within a solidly documented anthropological, linguistic, historical, and social context. Its ultimate intention is to become an opportunity for those involved in any way with the world of traditional music to expand, strengthen, or improve their musical education and (re)discover, at the same time, the cultural framework that surrounds and in which all sound expressions are rooted.
